Following the Government's announcement on 26th May, Auction Houses have been allowed to re-open having been closed since late March due to the Coronavirus Lockdown. We at Batemans have assessed how we can safely work and welcome customers both new and familiar, and have put in place a series of measures that we ask all our customers to follow, many of them with already be familiar to you. Government advice and also common sense will dictate behavior, with social distancing being the primary safety precaution; limiting the number of customers at one time into our offices and auction rooms, maintaining high hygiene levels with regular hand washing the norm, and helping customers follow to guidance, will make sure that we can continue to help vendors consign and sell their items, and for bidders to find, check and buy whatever interests them, all with our trademark Batemans flair, experience, and hard work.

Sale Days & Pre-Sale Viewing:

Auctions will remain as 'Live Online' for the time being, with our high quality online sale catalogues providing as usual multiple images of lots and informative descriptions. Condition reports, additional images and Valuer advice will all be provided on request to further assist potential bidders. See our Calendar & Catalogue pages for auction sales.
Viewing prior to sale will be by appointment only in the week before the Sale Day. Please contact our office to make an appointment to view any sale. The number of people permitted in our Salerom at any one time will be limited to ensure that social distancing guidelines can be adhered to. You will be asked to use the hand sanitiser provided before handling any of the lots.


Post Sale & Collection of Lots:

Strictly by appointment - please Contact Us to arrange a collection slot. All payments can easily be made remotely following instructions on emailed invoices, via our online card payments system, or by bank transfer. We will prepare your purchased items for a swift and easy contactless collection at a mutually convenient time.
