A WWII photograph album containing approximately 472 images taken by Captain Edward Phillips, Official photographer of the Eighth Army, originally of the Royal Army Veterinary Corps then the Derbyshire Yeomanry, dating from 1940 to 1946, with a plethora of images depicting training camps in England, scenes from Algeria and Tunisia, significant aerial photograph of Monte Cassino dated April 1944 with annotations verso as well as other aerial photographs in Italy, an original WWII map of the Arno and Gothic Defense lines dated 18th August 1944, photographs of crossing the Adige in 1945, together with images from Austria during 1942, the POW camp Stalag 18A, and pictures of the partisans who Captain Phillips accompanied during their hunt for fleeing members of the Gestapo, all photographs mounted within a leather album with embossed covers.

Some photographs have become loose and album has wear consistent with its age.
