Lot 7A group of silver and white metal, comprising a silver photograph frame with leather easel back, for image size 20 by 15cm, 30 by 24cm overall, a small silver cigarette box, Drew & Sons (Samuel Summers Drew & Ernest Drew), London 1904, 10 by 7.5 by 4.5cm, a silver toddy ladle with baleen twist handle, 41cm, a silver teaspoon, a white metal commemorative tray dated 1933, and a set of six white metal glass holders, with pierced decoration and saucepan style handles. (11).
Lot 8A group of seven silver items, including a silver cigarette case with parcel gilt interior, Deakin & Francis Ltd, Birmingham 1897, a white metal collar with oriental landscape decoration, a silver and a white metal compact, and silver topped cut glass dressing table wares, total weighable silver 5.59toz. Lot 9A collection of silver and plated wares, including a silver cigarette case, Birmingham 1919, two vesta cases, two napkin rings, a ring and a silver and faux amber cigar holder, 5.5toz total weight, together with a number of plated items, including a set of eight plated knives with ivorine handles, six forks, a napkin ring, crumb scoop and a match book holder. Lot 16An assortment of silver items, comprising an early 20th century sugar sifter by Gorham Manufacturing Co. 1915, an early 19th century wine ladle with turned baleen handle, with monogram 'WP', a cased christening set of Walker and Hall spoon and pusher, a pepperette by B & Co., 1910, and three salts two with salts spoons, total 8.6toz weighable silver. Lot 26A collection of silver flatware, including a 19th century Sterling silver needle case, a 20th century Masonic butter knife, possibly by Stephenson and Law, Sheffield 1935, a George III silver ladle, William Eley & William Fearn, London 1802, together with twenty four other silver pieces, six white metal spoons with encased gem stones to handles and one plated spoon, total weighable silver 14.4 toz. Lot 28A group of Georgian and later silver spoons, comprising a pair of Georgian table spoons, engraved terminals 'JS', a set of five Georgian teaspoons, engraved terminals 'ES', maker BC probably for Benjamin Cartwright II, eight various desert spoons, five further teaspoons and two salt spoons, combined weight 18.5toz. Lot 29A Victorian silver egg cup stand with six egg cups, raised scroll form handle, all with pierced and engraved decoration, the stand of six foil form raised upon scroll feet, Barnard and Sons Ltd, London 1872, 19.9toz, together with a set of six associated silver apostles spoons, R F Mosley and Co., London 1918, 2.6toz, overall 20 by 15 by 21.5cm high, each egg cup 4.7 by 6.2cm. Lot 33Judaica: a Russian silver hexagonal box, pierced lid with crown flanked by two prowling lions, the sides inset with red and turquoise cabochons, further applied lion to one side and the Star of David applied to opposite side, 84 silver zolotnik mark, Moscow 1873, maker’s mark ИА, 10 by 6.5 by 8.5cm, 3.95toz..
Lot 40A Victorian silver carriage candle lamp, made for Lord Rosebery, retailed by R&S Garrard, Panton Street, London, with hinged cover and hooks to top and bottom, the front opening to reveal a candle holder with two hinged handles to the back, with match holder below, Henry William Dee, London 1873, 18cm high, 22.25toz total weight.
Provenance: reputedly passed down through the Vendor's family Beck having been given as a gift from Lord Rosebery..
