A Franklin Mint silver gilt egg, 'The Emergence of Spring', in the manner of Faberge, the outer silver surface with a overlaid gilt design in six panels of scrolling roses separated by small inset diamond panels of malachite, opening to reveal a butterfly with black, blue, green and yellow enamelled wings connected to the hinged sprung body allowing the wings to open above two conforming compartments, lined with green velvet, and enclosing a rose, stamped 'Sterling' and '1977', limited edition 581/750, Franklin Mint, London 1979, 8.0 by 6.3cm, 466.5g.
