A Minton Majolica lidded jug, the shell moulded lid with jester's head finial, Britannia metal mounts, over an entwined branch rustic handle continuing around the rim band, over a frieze of four dancing figures in mediaeval costume, with a raised entwined rootstock band to the base, impressed factory mark 'Mintons, 1231', year cypher for May 1874, 15 by 19 by 33cm high.
