Three spectacular pieces of English pottery look set to ignite some fierce bidding at Batemans of Stamford!
Part of a large private collection consigned from a Leicestershire home these three pieces of high Decorative Arts are expected to sell for thousands of pounds. With interest ensured from private collectors and International dealers we are certain to see some frantic bidding and impressive hammer prices as each piece is offered for sale at Batemans Auctioneers on 4th October.

William De Morgan (British, 1839-1917): 'Leo', a red lustre charger, circa 1890s, decorated in ruby and salmon lustre with a manned galleon in full sail, with lion figurehead, with the full sun and a flock of birds in the sky above, the underside with leaf border and concentric rings, impressed '24' to base, 5 by 36cm.
Estimate: £2,000 - £3,000

A rare Martin Brothers stoneware jardiniere bowl, late 19th century, of ovoid form, the body sgraffito decorated with four swimming grotesque sea turtles in swirling currents, against a mottled dark purple brown ground, pale blue / grey interior, incised 'Martin Bros. London & Southall' and dated '4-1899', a/f stapled repair and hairline crack, 19.5 by 15cm high.
