On a rather colder than usual High Summer Sunday Batemans of Stamford held an eclectic On-Site Sale at Haddenham, Cambridgeshire. With anything from single rings, tassels and lampshades, up to entire carved wooden doorways, it was a extremely fun and eventful day!
Comprising the entire contents Haddenham Galleries, Cambridgeshire, a long running gallery and shop, the lots including ethnic art, collectables and jewellery, plus vintage and antique items collected by the owners Alastair and Hazel Hull over the last 50 years, who catalogued, photographed, set up, and managed the auction in partnership with Batemans On-Site Team.
We have received a great many lovely compliments from bidders who attended the sale both in person and online, and are grateful to everyone who helped. Special mention must go to our Auctioneer David Palmer who stood and banged the gavel (actually an improvised gavel in the form of a wooden lamp base as he'd forgotten his own gavel!) for a grand total of 9 hours of selling - entertaining us all the way though! And a final thank you to all the bidders that signed on and listened, and sat socially distanced in the marquee tent, for watching, laughing along and buying!
With 697 lots across the day there were only 2% of the lots unsold - a fantastic success!
