A George III and Victorian silver desk stand of oval twin handled form, with swag decoration within a pierced and beaded rim, raised on four foliate scroll feet, fitted with a central taperstick and holder flanked by two cut glass inkwells with silver lids, presentation engraved to body 'Richard Budd Painter Esquire, MD, FRCS (exam) M & LSA, also Surgeon to the F Division of the Metropolitan Police for seven years by the Officers, Sergeants and Constables of that Division, in appreciation of his excellent qualities, professional and private, and as a small token of their very great esteem for him.
