Pavel Ovchinnikov (Russian, 1830-1888): a late 19th century Russian 14k gold, silver, and diamond jewelled brooch, formed of an oval of turquoise faience centred by a gold and diamond set flower, principle stone 0.15ct, the central oval flanked by two teardrop shaped cabochon turquoise stones, each surrounded by twenty-one 0.015ct diamonds, and to the far tips with a 0.05ct diamond, hinged pin fastening to the back, signed Pavel Ovchinnikov with maker's marks 'П.О' and 'П.Овчинниковъ', also marked with the Russian Imperial Eagle mark, St Petersburg city mark, combined dvoinik '56' standard and city mark (1882-1899), '583' zolotnik grade mark, and '875' silver (84 zolotnik) mark, the central oval panel 20 by 32mm, each turquoise cabochon, 6 by 8mm, the brooch overall 66.5 by 26 by 7mm, overall weight 14.1g, in a fitted black presentation case, 9.5 by 4.2 by 2.7cm.
