An early 19th century gold pocket watch and chain, white enamel dial with black Roman numerals and minute track, inside case back engraved 'Echappement A Ancre Ligne Droit, 15 Rubis, Balancier Chronometre, No 33352, Sandoz Freres', case unmarked but tests to at least 18ct, chain unmarked but tests to 9ct, dial 35mm, 40.5g total, chain 13.7g, 29cm long, in fitted tortoiseshell branded case, with two keys, owned by Peter Bartholomew Long, Mayor of Ipswich four times between 1837 and 1855, with letter of provenance, together with two yellow metal propelling pencils, one by S. Mordan and Co, 8.5cm, the other with engraved foliate decoration, and seal end set with a blood stone, 6cm. (4)
