A suite of late 19th century Latvian 875 grade silver and Swedish steel cutlery, by Carl Theodor Beyermann, with engraved line decoration to the edges, and terminals engraved 'I S' for Irena Sakowski, the grandmother of the vendor, the knives with hollow cast 875 grade silver handles and 'Rostfrei' steel blades by Jernbolaget, Eskilstuna, comprising six place settings of six forks, 18cm, six knives, 22cm, six spoons, 18.5cm, and six teaspoons, 14.5cm, all forks and teaspoons marked 'Carl T. Bayermann', all knife handles and spoons marked 'H B', each with '875' 84 Zolotnik standard mark, combined weight (excluding knives) 29.7toz, knives only 11.23toz gross, together with red felt soft storage roll. Notes: The vendor's grandmother and grandfather were born in Russia but fled to Latvia following the Russian Revolution, this cutlery is believed to have been purchased during this period; eventually they made their way to England after continuing west to finally settle in safety. The cutlery had since been inherited by decent.
