A 18th century or later violin, bearing faded label 'Antonius Stradivarius Cremonentis Faciebat Anno 1721' the last three digits of the date possibly handwritten, main body 14 1/8", overall body length 23 1/2", split flamed maple back plate, old repairs to its top, no tuning pegs.

Provenance: from the family of Gabor Miklossy, a highly regarded artist, trained musician and collector.
