A Victorian silver vinaigrette, of shaped rectangular form, with wave engine turned decoration to the lid, and base, central rococo scroll cartouche with further scroll decoration to the sides and pierced and engraved grille, Edward Smith, Birmingham 1855, 0.6toz, 3.5 by 2.5 by 1cm high.

The vinaigrette has some wear to its base with scratches and wear throughout. The lid closes near flush with the base but with a slight gap to the side near the loop. The grill has a slight bend on its opening side and although it opens and locks into position when closed the hinge is slightly loose. The interior has old polish marks and more extensive surface wear particularly to its base.
