A Chinese cricket box, Ming dynasty style, the lid and body with blue reverse glazing surrounding engraved phoenixes and flowering vines, central air hole to lid, bears apocryphal six character Xuande mark to underside of lid and body in underglaze blue, lid a/f, 14.3 by 10.6cm, together with a further Chinese cylindrical cricket jar, Ming dynasty style, decorated in underglaze blue with birds flying over countryside, mountains in the background, lid and underside of base bears apocryphal six character Xuande mark, 13 by 10.8cm.
