A group of seven silhouette miniature portraits, believed to be ancestors of the Mansel-Carey, including an oval George III, portrait of Rev. Matthew Arnold, BD fellow of Corpus Christi College Oxford, December 1816, four years before his death aged 35, drowned in Stokes Bay Hampshire, with handwritten text verso, and printed account of his death, sight size 7.9 by 6.4cm, mounted, glazed in rectangular, ebonised frame, 14.6 by 12.2cm, together with six other 19th century and later portraits, including two later copies.
