Attributed to Benjamin Marshall (British, 1768-1835): 'Hear the Musick of the Hounds', signed and with name plaque, oil on canvas, 125 by 99.5cm, in gilt frame, 144 by 119cm.
Provenance: bought as an after sale from the Christie's Sporting Art Sale New York, Wednesday 1st December 1999. The catalogue description noted 'the picture was painted for the 3rd Lord Sondes' and was sold during the Christie's Rockingham Castle sale in 1946, it was then sold twice more at auction by Christie's.
