Jean Shepeard (British, 1904-1989): a charcoal portrait of actor Sir Gerald du Maurier (1873-1934), du Maurier father to the famous novelist Daphne and two other daughters who were also writers, signed with a monogram, with facsimile photographic portrait verso, 24 by 19.5cm, mounted, 30.5 by 25.5cm, together with three signed but unmounted charcoal portraits, George Bernard Shaw (1856-1950), with imprint of another portrait verso, 28 by 21.5cm, Philip Brandon (1898-1952), as identified by Peter Cotes, with incomplete portrait verso, 22.5 by 16.5cm, and a portrait of a lady with cigarette in her mouth, with the imprint of a still live sketch verso, 22.5 by 17.5cm, a/f. (4)

Provenance- from Doreen Kern Collection (Artist and Sculptor 1931-2021) niece of Jean Shepeard.
