William De Morgan (British, 1839-1917): 'Leo', a red lustre charger, circa 1890s, decorated in ruby and salmon lustre with a manned galleon in full sail, with lion figurehead, with the full sun and a flock of birds in the sky above, the underside with leaf border and concentric rings, impressed '24' to base, 5 by 36cm.

In good condition, with glaze faults from the feet / stilts, light overall crackleure, and a few minor marks to the rim.
