A late 15th century French illuminated manuscript vellum leaf, with a half page miniature of The Flight into Egypt, depicting the Holy family with donkey fleeing through a hilly landscape, to the background the apocryphal miracle of the corn, three lines of text below, and surrounded by a beautiful floral, red and blue panelled border, the reverse of the leaf with twenty three lines of text, from a French Book of Hours in Latin, miniature 10 by 6.5cm, leaf overall 16 by 10.5cm, mounted, glazed (double sided), and framed, 33 by 27cm.
Provenance: private deceased estate, purchased via specialist dealer on Ebay.
