A well presented collection of Boer war medals all 1899-1902 4th Field Battery Royal Artillery comprising a Queens medal to 27285 C.W. Oakes with Transvaal, Orange Free State, and Cape Colony bars, a Queens medal to 25167 Driver Frederick Knick with Transvaal, Orange Free State and Cape Colony bars, a Kings medal to 23422 Driver John Burnin severely wounded at Wolmaranstad 6th March 1901 with South Africa 1901 and 1902 bars, Queens and Kings medals to 85353 Sgt John Williams with Transvaal, Orange Free State, Cape Colony, South Africa 1901 and 1902 bars, and a Kings medal to 32977 Gnr Samuel King Lievesley, Kleinfontein 24th October 1901 "dangerously wounded defending the guns until all officers and gunners were struck down either dead or wounded" Sgt Browning won a posthumous DCM for this action, with South Africa 1901 and 1902 bars, also with South Africa 1900 tin and mementos, mounted and framed, 75 by 5 by 65cm.
