A late 19th century gilt bronze sculpture, after the Antique, modelled as Emperor Hadrian's lover Antinous in a nude standing pose, lost wax (cire perdue) process, depicted in fine detail wearing a grape decorated wreath upon his head, a goat skin, the small horns and cloven feet visible, draped over his left shoulder, high lacing sandals upon his feet with toes exposed, with hollow eyes possibly previously fitted with precious stones, raised upon a circular base with stiff leaf borders, with cast mark for 'Bellman & Ivery, 37 Piccadilly, London, By Appointment to the Queen', base 24cm, figure 58cm high, 62cm high overall.
